Obra de ampliação da ETE Cabanga já está quase 30% concluída
A obra que está promovendo a ampliação e modernização da Estação de Tratamento de Esgoto (ETE) Cabanga, a maior em operação no Estado, está 30% concluída. A unidade, localizada no bairro do Cabanga, Zona Sul do Recife, tem capacidade de tratar mil litros de esgoto, por segundo, e atende a população nos bairros do Pina, Boa Viagem, São José, Santo Antônio, Santo Amaro, Boa Vista, Bairro do Recife, Madalena e Torre. Hoje (5), membros do Conselho de Administração da Companhia Pernambucana de Saneamento (Compesa) visitaram a ETE Cabanga, para ver de perto o andamento dessa grande obra, com previsão de ser concluída em setembro de 2019. Para um dos conselheiros, João Bosco de Almeida, que já foi presidente da Compesa por duas gestões, a obra da ETE Cabanga representa um avanço no saneamento do Recife, que contará com uma unidade totalmente modernizada para garantir mais qualidade de vida à população. Os visitantes foram recepcionados pelo diretor Técnico e de Engenharia da Compesa, Rômulo Aurélio Souza e pelo chefe de Gabinete da Companhia, Carlos Eduardo Maia.
O Governo do Estado e a Compesa investem R$ 102 milhões na obra, que faz parte das ações do Programa Cidade Saneada. Após a finalização da obra, a ETE Cabanga terá condições de funcionar com 100% da sua capacidade e atender até 500 mil pessoas. As intervenções preveem a adequação da infraestrutura do sistema de tratamento, possibilitando que a unidade passe a utilizar tecnologia de desinfecção por sistemas de ultravioleta, melhorando o grau de remoção dos poluentes e, consequentemente, a qualidade dos efluentes tratados. A Compesa está implantando 20 novas estruturas dentro do terreno já existente na unidade, com estações elevatórias, decantadores, medidores, digestores de lodo e queimadores de gás, além da casa de operação, laboratório, subestação e sala de painéis. A obra iniciou em junho de 2017.
