Ações do Novembro Azul alertam para cuidados com a saúde do homem no Jaboatão
A Secretaria Municipal de Saúde deu início, nesta segunda-feira (5), na Igreja de São Bento, no Alto da Goiabeira, em Jaboatão Centro, às atividades da campanha Novembro Azul, com ações de orientação e combate ao câncer de próstata. A campanha será realizada durante todo o mês de novembro em unidades de saúde distribuídas por todo o município. A iniciativa tem o objetivo de alertar os homens sobre os malefícios do câncer de próstata, as formas de detecção precoce, tratamento, além de proporcionar maior acesso aos serviços de diagnóstico e contribuir para a redução da mortalidade.
Haverá testes rápidos, palestras educativas, atendimento odontológico, aferição de glicemia e pressão arterial. A programação e os agendamentos estão definidos para cada uma das sete regionais do Jaboatão dos Guararapes, a fim de atingir a população masculina do município.
“O câncer de próstata é o segundo tipo mais comum entre homens em todo o mundo e o quinto na taxa de mortalidade. Estima-se que 70% dos casos ocorrem nas regiões mais desenvolvidas. Homens em qualquer idade também correm risco, principalmente, se houver casos na família. Por isso, a importância das ações do Novembro Azul, visando alertar sobre os malefícios do câncer de próstata e como se detectar precocemente”, ressalta o secretário municipal de Saúde, Alberto Lima.
“Estou muito feliz que a Campanha Novembro Azul foi realizada de forma descentralizada. Hoje, pela primeira vez, eu consegui fazer os exames que eu estava precisando e não tinha tempo”, ressaltou Josemar Amaral, 52 anos.
