Jaboatão comemora Dia Mundial da Água com grande mutirão de limpeza da orla e nascimento de filhotes de tartaruga marinha
A Prefeitura do Jaboatão dos Guararapes, por meio da Superintendência de Meio Ambiente, promoveu, nesta sexta-feira (22), nas praias de Candeias e Piedade, um grande evento em alusão ao Dia Internacional da Água. Durante toda a manhã, foi realizado mutirão de limpeza ao longo dos quase oito quilômetros de extensão da orla da cidade. A ação teve o apoio de um grupo de agentes ambientais mirins e escoteiros, além de equipes da Secretaria Executiva de Serviços Urbanos e Defesa Civil, que auxiliaram na coleta do material e distribuição de informativos sobre o trabalho de reciclagem realizado no município. A unidade móvel do programa Bem Estar Animal estava à disposição da população, realizando vacinação, consultas e agendamento para castração de cães e gatos.
Logo no início da manhã, na praia de Candeias, houve soltura de 203 filhotes de tartaruga marinha da espécie tartaruga-de-pente, ameaçada de extinção, e palestra sobre a importância da preservação do meio ambiente para cerca de 250 pessoas. Moradora do bairro, Kelly Catarina aproveitou a oportunidade para poder ver de perto a caminhada dos filhotes da areia em direção ao mar “Estava na orla e vi uma que iria acontecer a soltura. Fiquei muito feliz em poder estar aqui e presenciar a eclosão de tantas tartarugas marinhas. É muito emocionante ver o surgimento da vida”, afirmou.
O secretário-executivo de Meio Ambiente e Gestão Urbana do Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Isaac Azoubel, reforçou a importância em celebrar o Dia Internacional da Água. “A Prefeitura do Jaboatão programou diversas ações para preservação do uso sustentável da água. Hoje é um dia muito emblemático para a preservação ambiental, já que a água é a substância mais vital para a nossa existência. Todos nós temos que fazer uma reflexão sobre a importância da água na humanidade e precisamos, de fato, mudar nossas práticas, a fim de cuidar do meio ambiente do e lutar contra a prática predatória do homem contra a natureza”, reforçou Azoubel.
