OPERAÇÃO NOVO CABRESTO
Em 11/11/2020 a Polícia Federal deu cumprimento a 9 Mandados de Busca e Apreensão visando combater a prática de crimes objetivando tumultuar a lisura do pleito eleitoral na cidade de Itaíba/PE.
A ação policial foi realizada em resposta à ocorrência do dia 07/11/2020, quando um coordenador de campanha da prefeita de Itaíba teve sua casa invadida, sofrendo diversas agressões, inclusive com uso de chicote.
Segundo relatado pela vítima, os agressores utilizavam máscaras pretas, bonés e usavam duas pistolas. Um deles também segurava um chicote de couro e determinou à vítima que deitasse no chão, passando a golpeá-lo diversas vezes.
A Operação Policial teve o apoio do Ministério Público Eleitoral em Pernambuco. Os 09 Mandados foram cumpridos na cidade de Itaíba/PE e tiveram a finalidade de apurar o envolvimento de pessoas pertencentes à uma família com grande participação política na região, inclusive com uma candidata à Prefeita nas eleições do corrente ano. Além da Operação deflagrada, a Polícia Federal realizou diversas diligências na cidade de Itaíba/PE e região, com o objetivo de manter a ordem para que as eleições transcorram de forma pacífica e democrática.
