COMPESA REDUZ CALENDÁRIO DE ABASTECIMENTO DE SÃO LOURENÇO DA MATA
As chuvas que anunciam o início do inverno na Região Metropolitana do Recife continuam trazendo boas perspectivas para a ampliação da oferta de água para a população. O Governo do Estado, por meio da Compesa, segue acompanhando o nível dos reservatórios da região e promovendo a flexibilização nos calendários de abastecimento a partir da recuperação dos mananciais. Em São Lourenço da Mata, o acumulado de chuvas elevou o nível da Barragem de Várzea do Una para 18%, retirando o manancial da situação de pré-colapso. Com a recuperação da barragem, a Companhia instituiu novo regime de abastecimento para o município de 1 dia com água e 8 dias sem. O novo calendário entra em vigor nesta quarta-feira (28) e vai beneficiar 115 mil pessoas.
Com o volume já acumulado no reservatório e a estimativa de precipitações mais intensas com o avanço da quadra chuvosa, a Compesa concluiu uma fase de ajustes operacionais no Sistema Várzea do Una, que resultou na redução de dois dias no rodízio. A recuperação da barragem, localizada no próprio município de São Lourenço e com capacidade de acumulação de 9,2 milhões de metros cúbicos, permitiu o aumento em 70 litros por segundo da água captada, que agora é de 250 litros por segundo. Em janeiro, a escassez de chuvas na região forçou a redução da vazão de água no sistema de 350 litros por segundo para 180 litros de água por segundo, com a consequente ampliação do rodízio de abastecimento da população para um dia com água e 10 dias sem.
A presidente da Compesa, Manuela Marinho, comenta as ações executadas para a ampliação do abastecimento no município. “Reforçamos o monitoramento dos mananciais da região metropolitana na segunda semana de abril, assim que tivemos os primeiros registros de chuvas, com estudos e cálculos que são necessários antes do anúncio de redução nos calendários. No município de São Lourenço, acompanhamos de perto a situação da barragem e, agora, com a conclusão da fase de testes operacionais no sistema estamos conseguindo a redução nos dias sem água, beneficiando todo a cidade com o regime de 1 dia com água para 8 dias sem, saindo de um dia com água e 10 dias sem”, explica Manuela.
