Compesa flagra furto de água por caminhão-pipa na Adutora do Oeste, em Parnamirim
Fiscalizar roubo de água em adutoras tem sido uma rotina para a Companhia Pernambucana de Saneamento- Compesa, que começa a atuar quando percebe uma queda acentuada de vazão nos sistemas de abastecimento e reclamações de falta de água da população. Na última sexta-feira (23), no final da tarde, uma equipe da Compesa flagrou um motorista de carro-pipa desviando oito mil litros de água, capacidade de armazenamento do veículo, em um trecho da Adutora do Oeste, no município de Parnamirim, no Sertão. Tão logo percebeu a presença dos técnicos da Companhia, o motorista infrator fugiu, deixando o veículo no local.
Como estavam sem o apoio da polícia, os funcionários da Compesa apenas retiraram os equipamentos acoplados irregularmente na Adutora que permitiam a retirada da água, que deveria estar chegando na casa das pessoas. Foi registrado um Boletim de Ocorrência na cidade de Ouricuri para que o caso seja apurado e que o infrator seja identificado e responsabilizado pela irregularidade.
De acordo com a Compesa, o roubo de água tem sido uma prática comum ao longo da Adutora do Oeste, que abastece dez municípios do Sertão do Araripe, entre eles, Araripina, Ouricuri e Parnamirim. “Já informamos essa prática às Polícias Militar e Civil e ao Ministério Público para que operações sejam realizadas no sentido de coibir esse tipo de irregularidade. Se não houvesse furto de água na Adutora do Oeste, as cidades que integram esse sistema de abastecimento não estariam com um rodízio tão severo. “No ano passado, o calendário na região era de sete dias com água e dois sem. Este ano, o cronograma aumentou para cerca de 12 dias sem água e dois com”, alerta o Gerente de Unidade de Negócios, João Virgílio.
Os números levantados pela Compesa de furto de água são alarmantes na região do Araripe. Em determinados trechos da Adutora do Oeste, pipeiros agem à noite e fazem, em média, 70 viagens transportando água roubada, o que corresponde a uma perda de 560 metros cúbicos, que daria para abastecer, por exemplo, uma localidade do porte de Granito, que tem cerca de 5 mil habitantes, durante um dia inteiro. O prejuízo, por mês, chega a quase R$200 mil.
Para o gerente da Compesa, João Virgilio, além do prejuízo financeiro da empresa, o maior dano ainda é o prejuízo ao abastecimento de água, pois a anormalidade no sistema significa menos água para distribuir. Ele lembra que a prática de furto de água é qualificada como crime contra o patrimônio, de acordo com o artigo 155 do Código Penal Brasileiro. A pena prevista na lei é reclusão de um a quatro anos, além de multa. Quem for pego em flagrante será conduzido a uma delegacia, onde o auto de prisão será lavrado e o infrator responderá criminalmente pelo furto de água.
