We are in times of deconstruction of diverse customs and paradigms, in different parts of the world.
My wish is for there to be another pandemic, but one of reflection and revaluation of the HUMAN that is in us. Perhaps in this way, we can take off the cup of futility with which humanity has long been drunk. And our stupid political naivety in faithfully believing in contumacious liars, when are we going to take down?
Racism shows that the lives of blacks matter, but we must know that the lives of indigenous people do too; that “gay” life matters, and that women’s lives, against which domestic violence (one of the by-products of machismo) reaches more than 50% in this pandemic period, also matters.
In the end, more than a silly speech that we are all the same since we are all made up of the same chemical elements (hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon, etc.), perhaps what you have to learn is to respect differences, such as I insist on proclaiming for my conferences in the public schools of the Federal District, having already spoken with more than 15,000 students, parents of students, educational advisers, principals, school supervisors, and teachers. We must learn to respect differences because they are made of multiverses, of which we are a small part suspended in the Cosmos.
This deconstruction has shattered various paradigms, including reverence for historical figures, whose statues are being demolished in South Africa, the United States, and other parts of the world. It is the so-called “Take down the statues” movement, that is, “knock down all the statues”. To the ground and to the contempt with all the busts of eugenicists, slavers, sexists!
But isn’t it time to overthrow the hypocrisy that is the cornerstone of our societies? Isn’t it time that we stop humanizing things and humanizing things? What will the future say about us? Humanity that feeds the animals with fillet Mignon and cares little about the hunger and the poverty that increases exponentially not only in Africa but near us?
What will the future say when it tells that those who saw the misery and tried to donate goods, money, belongings, their precious time and work, had their donations diverted by NGOs, different charities, whose speech is of mercy, but they do not pass a political extension of the Democratic States of Law, which feed on corruption and live on empty promises? Was my question long? To what extent does the answer deserve to be long?
Every time we put up walls or fences, physical or psychological in a particular fight, no matter how much that attitude takes on an air of wisdom, it shows how superficial the reasoning is, as we end up ghettoizing the issue and the fight. Our place of discourse, our position must be the defense of humanity that exists in each one of us.
