Bispo Ossesio, será 1º Deputado Federal negro de Pernambuco
Pesquisas declaram que Pernambuco tem uma população com 65% de negros. Ossesio afirma que por este numero, deveria ter muito mais representantes políticos negros que representassem seus anseios.
Ossesio Silva, será 1º Deputado Federal negro de Pernambuco, nasceu no Rio de Janeiro. Há 37 anos membro da Igreja Universal, tornou-se Pastor da denominação, e, posteriormente, Bispo. Alguns anos mais tarde, ingressou na carreira política ao ser escolhido pela igreja para representá-la politicamente. Essa escolha veio por respeito a sua trajetória na instituição religiosa, no que diz respeito à preocupação com o social. “Apesar de a base ser a Igreja Universal, tenho votos de outros segmentos, e não só dos evangélicos. E meu mandato não será exclusivo da Igreja Universal. Meu mandato é do povo de Pernambuco”, definiu o Deputado.
“Meu Projeto se chama Valorização da Raça Negra. Eu quero estimular o negro a se valorizar, a estudar, a se qualificar. A qualificação profissional, por exemplo, dá espaço. O negro tem contribuído muito para o Brasil, em todas as áreas, mas somos reconhecidos como o negro atrás das grades, como o negro atrás dos brancos”
O parlamentar assinalou alguns exemplos de personalidades negras que, na atualidade, tem chamado a atenção de todos. “Tivemos Joaquim Barbosa (primeiro negro a se tornar ministro no STF). Poderia ter feito melhor, mas de qualquer maneira passou por lá. Tivemos também a Luislinda Valois, ex-ministra da Igualdade Racial, a quem conheço pessoalmente. Mas ela não foi feliz na colocação que fez (a ex-Ministra justificou um pedido de acúmulo de salário comparando-se a alguém que exercia trabalho escravo). Tivemos também a ex-ministra da Igualdade Racial, Luiza
Bairros, falecida, a quem eu fiz uma homenagem aqui na Assembleia”. Apesar da grande visibilidade de pessoas negras fazendo a diferença, o Deputado frisou que, na sociedade, e, muito mais, na política, a presença de representantes negros ainda é tímida.
