As sereias de Java Araújo em cartaz na Galeria de Artes Corbiniano Lins
Voltado para o universo surrealista ao pincelar formas lúdicas e curiosas de sereias, em variadas formas, o artista plástico pernambucano Java Araújo leva para a Galeria de Artes Corbiniano Lins, no Sesc Santo Amaro, a exposição “Sereia é mulher. E a outra parte, o que ela quiser”. Mais de 20 pinturas com técnicas mistas e algumas intervenções compõem o acervo, que apresenta nuances de engajamento na luta pela liberdade do público feminino. O vernissage acontece nesta quinta-feira (9/8), às 17h, com a presença do artista.
A exposição foi inspirada na obra “Invenção Coletiva”, do pintor surrealista René Magritte, que subverte a ordem do que se é entendido como sereia. Onde seria o lugar da cauda, estão às pernas humanas e, onde seria o tronco humano, há uma cabeça de peixe. Java não só fez a releitura deste trabalho, como também subverteu a ordem de outras tantas sereias em suas pinturas, onde surge cardume de mulheres-peixes que com liberdade se transformam seguindo suas vontades.
O artista fez uma enquete no seu Facebook convidando as mulheres a responderem a pergunta: “Se você fosse uma sereia, qual seria a sua outra metade?”. As repostas foram variadas, desde mulheres aladas a tempestade e vulcões. “Ultimamente tenho me voltado para este universo surrealista, mas sempre carregando com tinta forte a problemática social, o mundo em que estamos vivendo e encarando diariamente”, explica o artista Java Araújo. As obras estarão à venda na Galeria.
A mostra “Sereia é mulher. E a outra parte, o que ela quiser” poderá ser conferida gratuitamente até o dia 28 de setembro, de segunda a sexta-feira, das 9h às 17h, e aos sábados através de agendamento para grupos. A Galeria de Artes Corbiniano Lins fica localizada no Sesc Santo Amaro, na Rua Treze de Maio, nº 455.
O artista – Java Araújo se dedica ao mundo das artes há mais de 20 anos. Transita em universos variados das artes plásticas, cenários para teatro e ilustrações de livros. Em breve lançará um livro de ilustrações, incentivado pelo Funcultura, que faz um apanhado de vários momentos de sua vida como ilustrador.
Galeria – Inaugurado em 4 de setembro de 2015, o espaço recebeu o nome em homenagem ao artista José Corbiniano Lins. A abertura apresentou a mostra “Silêncio da Forma” com 30 esculturas, divididas no formato de parede e base. Em 2016, três exposições estiveram em cartaz no espaço: “Um mundo chamado Ferreira”, do artista Ferreira, “Corpo Du Som”, do Luthier Rodrigo Veras, e “Bela Aurora do Recife”, de Wilton de Souza, onde foi apresentado 80 trabalhos, entre gravuras, pinturas, capas de discos e livros resultantes da oficina “Arte Expográfica: expografia, produção e montagem de exposições”. Em 2017, entrou em cartaz “Antunes Filho: o Poeta da Cena”, de Emidio Luisi, e “Entre ser um e ser muitos”, de Valeria Rey Solto e Habib Zahra, e “Arena Conta… Teatro e Resistência no Brasil (1965-1970)”. Já em 2018, “A Gravura de Lasar Segall: Poesia da Linha”.
Sesc – O Serviço Social do Comércio (Sesc) foi criado em 1946. Em Pernambuco, iniciou suas atividades em 1947. Oferece para os funcionários do comércio de bens, serviços e turismo, bem como para o público geral, a preços módicos ou gratuitamente, atividades nas áreas de educação, saúde, cultura, recreação, esporte, turismo e assistência social. Atualmente, existem 19 unidades do Sesc do Litoral ao Sertão do estado, incluindo dois hotéis, em Garanhuns e Triunfo. Essas unidades dispõem de escolas, equipamentos culturais (como teatros e galerias de arte), restaurantes, academias, quadras poliesportivas, campos de futebol, entre outros espaços e projetos.
