O ex-senador Armando Monteiro (PSDB) marcou presença no evento realizado pelo partido em Caruaru em que foi apresentado o “Novo Pacto pelo Nordeste – um Manifesto em Favor do Brasil” ao governador do Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, que tem se colocado como opção do PSDB a uma candidatura nas eleições de 2022 para a presidência da República.
Ao discursar para lideranças de todas as regiões do Estado, que foram recebidas pelo presidente nacional do PSDB, Bruno Araújo, e pela prefeita de Caruaru e também presidente estadual do PSDB, Raquel Lyra, o ex-senador afirmou que a agenda de desenvolvimento do Nordeste enfrenta antigos e ao mesmo tempo novos desafios.
“O governador viu hoje o exemplo do Porto Digital, que é esse Nordeste novo. Esse Nordeste que cuida da inteligência artificial, da tecnologia de informação, mas esse Nordeste que ainda tem desafios na segurança hídrica, na infraestrutura. Veja como é difícil a nossa agenda”, afirmou Armando. Ele também cobrou uma solução para a conclusão do Ramal Pernambuco da Transnordestina. “Precisamos concluir essa obra e garantir uma maior competitividade da produção regional”, disse.
Defensor do nome de Raquel Lyra como uma opção no campo das oposições para a sucessão estadual de 2022, pela experiência e resultados apresentados na gestão, Armando Monteiro também estimulou o Governador do Rio Grande do Sul a continuar debatendo o Brasil, sobretudo o Nordeste. “Quero lhe estimular a continuar com essa sua presença, com essa sua mensagem. O Brasil precisa mais do que nunca, vencer essa quadra, de desalento, de desesperança. Eu acho que temos que avançar. Que bom vê-lo em Pernambuco”, concluiu.
