DR JUDIVAN VIEIRA

What are the impacts of this pandemic crisis, on your life? Judge the alternatives.

From Brasília, the capital of Brazil.

What are the impacts on your personal, professional, social and intellectual life, caused by the Coronavirus / Covid-19 pandemic?

It is not difficult to measure! Just take a little time to do it.

Let’s start with personal life. This concerns you as an individual. You with yourself, your mental structure, your thoughts about who you are, what you do, and what you have.

Have you taken advantage of the pandemic crisis to reassess yourself? Regarding what you were doing, and how you felt before the crisis, choose one or more of the alternatives below:

1. For you, everything remains the same.

2. I feel that some values have changed.

3. You are more depressed because your projects have stopped.

4. You’re excited because has found time to reinvent himself.

5. None of the above, but remain happy and confident that you will execute what you have planned, even if you extend the deadlines.

As for professional life, what are you projecting? Were you already investing in yourself, that is, were you studying, taking professional courses, studying for contests, or were you still waiting for opportunities that fell from the sky, like in the animation, “Cloudy with a chance of meatballs”, when raining burgers?

Now that being a professional recognized by the market is a gift! You earn money, status, credibility, when you’re not the type that cares, just to earn the customer’s money, and turn your back on the quality of service you provide. Whoever thinks like that, earns money once, and a bad reputation for the rest of his professional life.

Regarding your professional life, check the alternatives that describe your current moment:

1. For you, everything remains the same.

2. I feel that some values have changed.

3. You are more depressed because your projects have stopped.

4. You’re excited because has found time to reinvent himself.

5. None of the above, but still incredibly confident that it will succeed.

In social life, considering that Aristotle calls us all, “civic animals”, that is, those who love to live together in society, let’s think. Were you, always among friends? Was this approach an escaping of yourself, or really because being with people do you good?

There are people who love to go out because they hate being home. If this is your case, what is your level of distress? Are you fighting more with who is next to you? Now, think with me, if whoever was by your side, was your boss, the leader or the priest of your church, a television reporter, ready to interview him, his bad mood would be the same, or would you wear, the traditional mask of a really cool person?

Let’s go to our alternatives, regarding social life:

1. For you remains the same because you love yourself more than others, and you are enough, even if you respect other companies.

2. Feel that the obligation to be more with you is to create new values, and make you appreciate your personal world.

3. You miss the crowd and believes that, when distance ceases, you will be more sociable, understanding, and personable with other people.

4. You evaluated and saw that you were a well of criticism and a negative person and now, you will appreciate more the virtues of others.

5. None of the above because you don’t have time to stop at these things.

Finally, I would like to ask you about your intellectual life. Dutch philosopher Baruch de Espinoza says, reason is the higher dimension of life. In particular, I humbly believe that reasoning, being the dimension to which only humans were invited, is the greatest gift that Nature has given us.

But the intellect, as well as the body, need to be fed so as not to wither. So, how many series and movies have you seen in this pandemic? And now, the final question, how many books have you read in this period of pandemic crisis?

Shall we go to the alternatives?

1. I don’t like reading or writing, and I don’t mind. Despite this, I am doing very well in my personal, social, professional and intellectual life.

2. I feel that the simple fact that I am living in the century of technology, is already enough for my success. I don’t need to train intellectually because I know that good opportunities will come naturally.

3. I keep reading, exercising and training with “online” courses. I keep thinking and creating new projects because a crisis is also an opportunity to reinvent myself.

4. I already gave up the points and stopped improving myself because it doesn’t make much sense to improve my intellectual abilities, and die in a pandemic or epidemic.

5. I will think about all that has been said, and reevaluate these factors.

Reader friend, you can do it! Believe in yourself! Now that, despite all your weaknesses, the greatest of all virtues is that you are unique, and that you have your destiny, in your hands. I wish you the best!
